This selective program is tailored toward personal and professional growth; preparing young actors with the technical skills and confidence needed to deliver more authentic and compelling performances on-screen. Whether preparing for auditions, pursuing professional opportunities, or seeking a deeper understanding of their craft, teens at The Actors Parlor don’t just learn techniques—they develop  tools to “live truthfully under imaginary circumstances”.

Using a Meisner-based approach adapted specifically for film and television, actors are encouraged to listen thoughtfully, respond naturally, and stay fully present in their work.

Marina Darling – Actress/ Acting Coach

Marina Darling is an acting coach dedicated to training actors in truthful, moment-to-moment performance. Her teaching is rooted in the principles of Sanford Meisner, with a strong emphasis on authenticity, emotional connection, and instinctive response.

She works with actors of all levels, creating a focused and supportive environment where students are challenged to move beyond surface-level performance and develop genuine, lived-in work. 

Through repetition, scene study, and disciplined practice, Marina helps actors build the tools necessary to listen deeply, trust their instincts, and fully engage with the scene and other actors to “live truthfully” in the imaginary circumstances.

Known for her direct yet encouraging approach, Marina is committed to helping each actor unlock their unique voice and presence. Her training prioritizes consistency, vulnerability, and professional-level discipline, preparing students for both stage and on-camera work.

Marina teaches in Nashville at The Actors Parlor, where she brings a rigorous, process-driven approach to actor training. Her work fosters a community centered on growth, honesty, and strong storytelling—guiding actors to develop both their craft and the resilience required for a lasting career.
